Frequently Asked Questions

What is Oz Kids Watch?

Oz Kids Watch offers parents and guardians a secure way to track, communicate, and monitor their children, providing increased peace of mind and fostering independence.

Paired with the free Oz Kids Watch App and connected independently through an affordable 4G cellular network (includes free SIM), parents and guardians gain complete control and visibility over the wearer's location and access to essential communication features. These include Restricted Phone Contacts, Geo-Fencing (notifying parents when the child leaves a designated area), and Emergency Calling activated by a single button press.

With only a minimal monthly cellular service cost, there are no additional subscriptions or fees to worry about!

Are there any subscription fees for Oz Kids Watch?

You won't encounter any monthly subscription fees for the Oz Kids Watch. However, you'll need to pay fees directly to the mobile network provider to maintain cellular service at a minimum cost. This ensures that the watch has its own phone number for calls and data, enabling you to locate your child regardless of location and at any time.

Does Oz Kids Watch need a SIM card to function?

A SIM card is essential for device registration and most functionalities, enabling it to operate when on the move.

Equipped with a SIM card, the watch will possess its unique number and data service, seamlessly linking to your Oz Kids Watch irrespective of the location. This grants you the ability to track your child's whereabouts, make calls, send messages, and ensure they always have a means to contact you as well.

Watch doesn't have signal even with an activated SIM card

Using a phone, check if mobile data is working fine and try to reboot (by going to watch Settings and turn off) the device if it's not detecting data.

Having issues calling the watch

1. Check if there is any signal on the area where the watch is

2. If Reject Unknown Calls is activated in the app, make sure the number you are using to call is added at Contacts

3. Check if you have turn on the Do Not Disturb in app

The time doesn't update automatically

Watch should automatically update base on timezone's app setting when the watch has access to mobile data.

If this is still not happening, please send pw,123456,ntpservers,121.43.19.219,8089# via SMS using your phone to the mobile number of the watch. Make sure the watch got signal when you do this. Reboot the watch after.

How is the WiFi/LBS location accuracy

WiFi: is the moderately accurate as it finds the location using the watch's internet IP address with location accuracy between 50m-100m

LBS: The Local Base Station is the least accurate as it uses only the estimated proximity to the nearest cell tower with an accuracy between 50-1000m. It can be useful to find your child's location when no other location sources are available as they are in a building or underground parking for example.

What is IP67 waterproof?

The Oz Kids Watch is rated IP67 waterproof, which means it is designed to be resistant to water and dust. It can handle everyday splashes such as hand washing, rain, and accidental drops in water for a short period of time.

However, the watch is not recommended for swimming, bathing, or submerging in water for long periods, as this may damage the device over time.

For best performance, we recommend removing the watch before swimming, showering, or water sports. This helps keep the watch working properly for longer.

Which SIM plan do you recommend for the Oz Kids Watch?

We recommend the Amaysim Pay As You Go plan ($15 with 365-day expiry) as a reliable and practical SIM option for the Oz Kids Watch. Check this link

With short voice calls and usual voice messages and text chats, this plan typically lasts up to around 4 months before needing to recharge, making it a cost-effective choice for most families.

Please note that actual usage may vary depending on how often the watch is used for calls, voice chats, and other features.
